Students - Read Me First!

Welcome to the Astronomy Unit Wiki! We will be working in class, with the laptop labs, and in the media center to explore the interactions between the Earth, sun, and moon.  We will be sharing our experiences with the other 8th grade science students in our school.  In addition, you may even get to chat online with some Astronomy experts from all around the country!

The first step of your Astronomy journey begins with a pretest.  Once it is determined how much prior knowledge you have about the topics we will cover you will be assigned to the appropriate group for that topic.  Your group may change as we move through the unit.  Your group placement is based solely on your individual readiness for each of the objectives in the unit.

Everyone may not be doing the same exact thing at the same exact time, but that is OK!!  Every student will get what he or she needs to successfully complete the objectives for the unit.  Think of this as your own individual plan for success!!

Shortly, you will be taking a pretest.  Once you are done answering all of the questions, be sure to click submit. Do your best, but don't worry if you don't know the answers.  This is a PREtest, my hope is that you will be able to answer the questions much more easily and with greater detail AFTER the unit!

Please DO NOT ask for help from other students during the pretest - this is YOUR individual journey!

Once your group is assigned you will click on the page created for that group and follow all instructions given.  If at ANY time you have a question or something does not seem clear, please do not hesitate to ask your teacher for clarification!

At this time go to the "Unit Pretest Page" and take the Astronomy pretest.
